Today was not the best day, foodwise.
Breakfast: stove-top oatmeal, made with vanilla soymilk with peanut butter & pumpkin butter & pecans. YUM! also coffee & soymilk
Lunch (and this was where it all went downhill. We went to a burrito place, and did I just get the burrito? no.): 1/2 of a chicken burrito (with verde sauce); refried beans & rice, chips & salsa, sopapillas with honey; Diet Coke. After eating the chips & salsa and some sopapillas while waiting for the burrito, i was full after three bites of my lunch. BUT, I soldiered on & ate half of my food. If I’d just put it away when I was full, I would’ve had two more meals out of it. FAIL!
Dinner: one beer & the rest of my lunch - which I really wasn’t hungry enough for, but I can’t say no to burritos. Which is probably why I lost 25 lbs after leaving LA; I can’t walk to a Mexican restaurant (there’s a decent lunch place in walking distance, but it’s not open in the evenings), and most of the Mexican food here SUCKS.
Water: 74 oz
Exercise: Kick-ass 2 mile run to bring week’s total up to 20 miles (wooo!!!!); helped the architect by climbing up & down ladders & helping get the gutters set up for our rainbarrels.
Overall, I don’t feel well…I overate, and ate crappy food. I would’ve been fine with just a burrito (without the deluxe plate of rice & beans) with a few chips….I think next time I’ll ask the architect if he just wants to split a burrito plate with me, and then maybe get a side salad or something.
However, although I’m not pleased with my efforts, I do feel good knowing that in the early part of this decade, I went out for burritos every weekend, and usually ate the whole thing….without thinking about it. So, I’m eating more sensibly than I was then, and am definitely able to hear my fullness signals, even if I’m not always able to adhere to them (yet).
I am totally craving fruit & veggies right now, too - which is also something that wasn’t happening 8 years ago! It’s a good thing tomorrow is grocery day. I need some bananas! And a salad!
