So - this work thing. As much as I love my job, I think I would like to live a life a leisure. I love my 3-day weekends, and they are ALL OVER for awhile. And then, when I get them back? They will be Friday-Sunday weekends, which means I have to GO TO WORK on Mondays! The horror! (Also, I totally get a three-day weekend for next weekend, because it’s MLK day on Monday).
Anyways - on to the report.
Pre-workout breakfast: Gingerbread Lara bar (gag! This was even worse than the lemon one. YUCK)
2nd breakfast: 1 cup of vanilla yogurt, Diet Coke (this was not enough, but we were out of cereal, so I had nothing to stir into my yogurt - sadness!)
Lunch: Big-ass salad: 1 1/2 cups of mixed greens, 1 oz of shredded cheddar, 1 oz shredded chicken, toasted bread cubes (about 1/2 slice worth), a scoop of black beans, and the most delicious part of all? a few beet pickles with beet pickle juice (that served as my dressing as well). I love beet pickles. YUM! (These are especially yummy because I made them! Go me!)
Snack: Banana with 2 TB peanut butter
Dinner: Couscous & black beans with sauteed onion & garlic; 1 apple; 1 glass of wine; 1 square of dark chocolate
Water: 64 oz
Exercise 30 minutes of running (2.8 miles), 2.0 mile walk (from car to work & back, plus .2 miles of walking cooldown on treadmill); about 25 minutes of upper body strength training.
Fruit/veggie count: 3 fruits (1 banana=2; 1 apple); 2.5 veggies (1.5 salad=1.5; beets + onions/garlic =1)

I tried Lara Bars too and thought the same thing…I totally thought I would like them but instead found they were a total waste of calories and didn’t fill me up at all. I’ll stick to my Kashi bars (a little more sugar but waaaay more flavor and way more filling).
